How to become truly free

From early on we are judged by preconceived standards and pushed into predefined labels. Things happen, we behave in a certain way and suddenly, before we realize it, it becomes who we are. By subconscious interpretation of events and other people’s reactions, we find ourselves defining who we are. It becomes our comfort zone – the comfort of knowing one’s identity. It starts with ‘I am a funny guy’, ‘I am a smart girl’, ‘I am pretty but I lack brains’, ‘I am good at sports’, ‘I am a rebel’, ‘I am an outcast’, ‘I am shy’, ‘I am unattractive’. As we grow up, it becomes ‘I am a banker’, ‘I am an average worker’, ‘I am a yoga teacher’, ‘I am a Christian’, ‘I am a mother’, ‘I am single’, ‘I am fat’, ‘I am a smoker’…

Let it be

Do you ever feel as if your life was a struggle? That you constantly fight against the current and all your plans seem to shutter for reasonslet it be independent from you? Well, you’re not alone there. In life, I often found myself fighting for love, money, jobs, friendships, places… However, what I’ve found is that sometimes it’s better to just let it be and let things go. We are all a part of the universe and the universe knows what’s best for us. At a particular moment, it might seem that everything is against us, but in fact it’s never so. F**k it and set yourself free

Some time ago I came across a really simple but extremely powerful idea for life philosophy. I have been searching for some inspiring books in the psychological books section and what caught my eye was the title of a little black book, which read: ‘F**k it’. At the first sight, the book seemed more entertaining than practical. It was fun to read all those tips about saying f**k it and for instance singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ out loud in public or doing plenty of other random things that were in the end supposed to make one feel free. The funny thing is that now as I look back, the once completely abstract idea has started to make more and more sense in my life. Continue reading
