Why focusing on where you are won’t get you anywhere

Imagine that you are walking with your eyes down on the ground, focusing intently on where you currently are, studying the path you are on. If you never look up to establish the direction where you should be heading or decide on a destination, where do you think you will arrive?

Can you be an optimist without expectations?

Sometimes when we think about the future, we can find ourselves lost in pessimistic visions that create nothing but unnecessary fear and worry in us. Since no one can really predict what is going to happen, I believe such thoughts are better to be avoided. They will not prevent anything and just worrying about something that may never even occur seems pointless if you look at it from a rational point of view. Continue reading

How to keep our cool and optimism in emotionally charged situations

It is easy to be happy and content with our lives when there’s nothing bad happening. When everything is calm or when we’re away on holidays having the time of our life, it’s not difficult to be positive and look at things optimistically. On Nihilism and Happiness

These days I find myself at a certain crossroad, a culminating point in my life so to speak.

As soon as you finally graduate from college, after the initial thrill of achieving presumed freedom after years of education – freedom from exams, freedom from having all your spare time organized by other people’s requests and agendas, you find yourself facing a decision of a career to follow and the lifestyle that will inevitably come with it. True happiness lies within…

Pharrell Williams – Happy

I wasn’t around here for quite some time but now I’m back for good! And I have plenty of treats for you up my sleeve so be prepared! 🙂

This song has become popular from the very first moment it was released but I’m pretty sure it’s not just because of the fact that it’s sung by Pharrell Williams… There is something to it that actually seems to cheer people up. Any time I hear it in public, people around me start to swing to the rhythm, hum or simply smile. It’s amazing!

That’s why I strongly recommend it for your personal positive music collection. If you don’t have your playlist yet, you should definitely make it right now. It’s a great tool to have close at hand any time you feel bad. Music has the real power to change your mood instantly, so why not use it?

When I look out the window on the gloomy autumn days, I often catch myself getting melancholic and sad. There’s just something depressing about the rain and the lack of sunshine. However, luckily there are some ways that can instantly cheer up even the most prone to getting depressed souls.
