Today I found myself thinking about relationships and more precisely – relationship/dating advice. It seems that everyone on the dating scene these days is obsessed with what they should and shouldn’t do in order to attract/keep a partner. It’s enough to look at the articles flooding glossy magazines or visit a self-help/psychology books section in the nearest library. The tempting titles promise to teach you what and when to say, what to write in a text message after the first date, how to spend the dates, what to wear, how to gaze at the person, when and how to initiate a sexual intercourse. Living in the times which present us with more freedom and opportunities than ever, it makes one wonder why there are still so many people in the world who voluntarily work in jobs which they openly admit to hate. It has become a plague of some kind. What to do when your life sucks

Today, while having my gym session, I was thinking how way too often I hear people around me saying things like ‘I’m so fat’, ‘My life sucks’, ‘I never have money for anything’, ‘People don’t like me’, ‘Old ladies and teenagers have a better sex life than me’, ‘I can’t change’, ‘It’s too difficult’, ‘I hate my job’ and so on and so on. For me, all of these statements fall into one huge category called ‘complaining’. Seriously people, I don’t mean to offend anyone but it seems that somehow we have become a generation which expects a lot and yet is not particularly willing to put much effort in it. We want things to happen to us just like that, for free. The thing is, it doesn’t work this way. If you want to change something, then stop complaining and do something about it. Continue reading
